Got Old Paint? Drop off event at RFK Stadium Nov 19

PaintCare is holding a special paint drop-off event for District residents and businesses this Saturday, November 19 from 9 am – 1 pm at RFK Stadium. Both latex and oil-based paint* will be accepted. WHAT PAINT PRODUCTS CAN YOU BRING?

Rain or shine, we’re holding a special paint drop-off event for the District of Columbia. You may bring most types of paint, stain and varnish. Businesses that generate less than 220 pounds (about 20-30 gallons) of hazardous waste per month may bring any amount of latex or oil-based paint. Businesses that generate more than 220 pounds of hazardous waste per month may bring any amount of latex paint, but oil-based paint will not be accepted.

WE CAN’T ACCEPT

  1. No leaking, unlabeled or empty containers
  2. No aerosol spray paints
  3. No drums or containers larger than 5 gallons
  4. We cannot accept other hazardous waste or chemicals, such as paint thinner, solvents, motor oil, spackle, glue, adhesive, roofing tar, pesticides, cleaning chemicals

Paint manufacturers created PaintCare, a non-profit organization, to set up convenient places for you to recycle leftover paint. They are setting up drop-off sites throughout the District of Columbia where you can take smaller amounts of paint all year long.
